Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday, moving six wins from six in the Premier League and extending their lead at the top of the table to three points over Arsenal.
The result was sealed in the second half after Liverpool were reduced to 10 men when Ryan Gravenberch received a second yellow card for a late challenge on substitute Jérémy Doku.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring on 65 minutes with a powerful drive after Doku's shot was blocked by Alexis Mac Alister. Two minutes later Doku doubled the lead, jinking in from the right and curling a strike into the top corner.
Rayan Cherki added a third on 78 minutes, completing a solo run from Gvardiol's pass with a dragback to beat Jeremie Frimpong before finishing under Alisson Becker.
The first half was largely tight, with Gianluigi Donnarumma making notable double saves from Lewis Koumas and Gravenberch, while Enzo Fernández forced Alisson into a scrambling stop at the other end.
City's victory at Anfield was their second successive league win there, the first time they have achieved back-to-back league wins at Liverpool's ground since January 1953.
City return to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday, 14 October, when they host Paris Saint-Germain at 20:00 UK time. The match is their second league-phase fixture, following a 2-0 win at FC Porto last month.
