Everton played out a 3-3 draw with Blackburn Rovers in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday, with 16-year-old Jonathan Nsangou among the scorers.

Charly Alcaraz opened the scoring with a confidently-dispatched penalty inside eight minutes. Goalkeeper Mark Travers then saved a Blackburn spot-kick midway through the first half.

Alcaraz turned provider on the stroke of half-time, crossing for Thierno Barry to turn home from close range and double Everton's lead.

Blackburn hit back with two quick goals after the restart and took the lead with three minutes remaining via a third penalty of the match.

Manager David Moyes gave minutes to a number of young players, including Joshua van Schoor, John Dodds, Ezra Carrington, Harvey Foster and Melvin Matos. It was Under-18s forward Nsangou who had the final word, calmly striking home a late equaliser after being played in by Jack Grealish.
