Three Chelsea loanees stood out in September, with Reggie Walsh, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Ollie Harrison among the academy players to catch the eye across the English football pyramid.

Walsh featured in every Wigan Athletic match since joining the League One club and continued to impress despite being the second-youngest player in the division. The England Under-19 international started five of the Latics' six September fixtures and was introduced at half-time in the other.

Kavuma-McQueen became the youngest player in the Championship to have logged more than 120 minutes this season while on loan at Portsmouth. He provided an assist in the 74th minute as Pompey came from behind to draw 2-2 with Blackburn, having earlier made an impact from the bench against Bristol City and Derby County.

Harrison went unbeaten across Wimbledon's final four September matches, helping the Dons keep three clean sheets and concede just once in 360 minutes. The midfielder made four consecutive starts after being named in the side that beat Bromley. Dujuan Richards also made his Wimbledon debut from the bench in a goalless draw with MK Dons and earned a first start against Cambridge the following week.

Kaiden Wilson played the most minutes of any Chelsea academy loanee in September, logging 627 in League Two with Rochdale. The left-back helped his side keep three clean sheets as Rochdale climbed the League Two table.

At Strasbourg, Genesis Antwi and Filip Jorgensen both completed the full 90 minutes in all three Ligue 1 matches during September, including a 6-2 victory over Troyes. Antwi, who only turned 19 in May, is the third-youngest player in Ligue 1 to have played more than 400 minutes this season. Dario Essugo made three substitute appearances and registered an assist in the win over Troyes.

Caleb Wiley scored his first goal of the season for Preston North End, netting in a 3-1 defeat to Bristol City before helping his side beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in his next outing.

Mamadou Sarr made three starts for Real Sociedad, beginning with a debut against Elche. The defender also played the full 90 minutes in Sociedad's Europa League meeting with Bournemouth, a 2-1 defeat, having previously featured in a 3-2 away win and a fixture against Atletico Madrid.

Axel Disasi featured in four matches across three competitions for Crystal Palace, keeping two clean sheets including in a Europa League tie with Lech Poznan. He was shown a first-half red card in a Premier League defeat to Ipswich Town and faces two further matches on the sidelines through suspension.

Among other loanees, Robert Sanchez made his Como debut in a 2-1 Serie A victory over Parma, Mykhailo Mudryk made a late substitute appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in a 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest before picking up an ankle injury, and Benoit Badiashile came on as a late substitute in Napoli's 3-2 defeat to Inter Milan at the San Siro.
