Brentford head coach Keith Andrews has confirmed that Antoni Milambo and Josh Dasilva will both miss Saturday's Premier League visit to Aston Villa (3pm BST), as the Bees return from the international break.
"Antoni Milambo and Josh definitely won't be involved tomorrow," Andrews said. "Antoni was doing really well, but he's picked up a little knock which has just set him back a little bit."
Andrews elaborated on the nature of Milambo's setback. "As you see with long-term injuries, when they're coming back it's not always an upward trajectory. It's not always really simple to take those next obstacles and he's been set back a tiny bit on that journey."
Nathan Collins (calf), Sepp van den Berg (groin) and Mathias Jensen are edging closer to a return after working on the training pitch during the break. "The one benefit of the last few weeks has been players like Nathan, Sepp and Mathi getting back up to speed and closer to a return," Andrews added. Mikkel Damsgaard and Dango Ouattara were also mentioned as being in and around training.
Young striker Kaye Furo remains sidelined following surgery on a metatarsal injury last month.
Brentford head to Villa Park three weeks after a 3-0 win over Chelsea. Andrews acknowledged the scale of the challenge posed by Unai Emery's side. "He is an exceptional coach. I thought they played well against Tottenham in the last game and clearly the work that they're doing is coming to fruition. We're very aware it's going to be a very difficult game. But equally, it's a game we're looking forward to playing."
