Aston Villa head into the international break on the back of consecutive victories, having defeated Coventry City in the Carabao Cup and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League within the space of a week.

Unai Emery's side beat Coventry 3-1 at the Coventry Building Society Arena to advance to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, then followed that up with a 3-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the weekend.

Johan Manzambi and Nicolas Jackson scored their first Premier League goals for the club in the victory at Spurs, with captain John McGinn also on the scoresheet.

In the midweek cup tie, Tammy Abraham netted a double and Ross Barkley added a third to secure Villa's progression. Taylor Harwood-Bellis made his club debut in that match, while Marco Bizot made his first appearance of the campaign.

Villa have now lost just one of their last five matches across all competitions and return to action next month in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and UEFA Champions League.

Full-back Ian Maatsen and midfielder Leon Goretzka remain sidelined with injuries ahead of the break.
