Ethan Nwaneri continued his strong start to the loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, starting and playing 64 minutes in Saturday's 3-0 win over Paderborn at Signal Iduna Park. The result keeps Dortmund second in the table with a perfect record — three wins from three, level only with Freiburg.
Tommy Setford kept goal for Stevenage in a 2-1 home win over Luton Town on Saturday, with both of the goalkeeper's appearances for the League One club coinciding with victories. Stevenage sit ninth in the table after the result against Jack Wilshere's Hatters.
Ismeal Kabia and St Mirren were beaten 1-0 by Rangers at Ibrox in stoppage time last Wednesday. Despite the narrow defeat, the Buddies have collected 10 points from their opening six Scottish Premiership matches and sit fourth.
In Sweden, Charles Sagoe Jr is playing regularly for Kalmar in the Allsvenskan. The club are 13th out of 16 after 21 games, having lost their previous two fixtures 1-0 to Djurgarden and Elfsborg respectively. Sagoe Jr played the full 90 minutes in both matches.
On the women's side, Jessie Gale and Cecily Wellesley-Smith are representing England at the Under-20 World Cup in Poland. Gale scored the fifth goal in a 5-1 group-stage rout of Tanzania, coming on as a second-half substitute in two of England's three group games.
Cecily started the matches against Canada and Tanzania, while neither player featured in the final group game — a 2-1 defeat by Brazil. England now face Nigeria in the last-16 on Thursday, with a quarter-final place at stake. After the tournament, Gale will return to Newcastle United and Wellesley-Smith to Rosengard.
Sophie Harwood has started both of Sheffield United's WSL 2 fixtures since joining the club. The 18-year-old played 85 minutes of Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers, with a trip to Newcastle next on the schedule.
